Not So American Census 2010..
The 2010 Census forms will be mailed to households in March, and the majority of the data processing will occur between March and July. 2010
The Census is mandated by the Constitution, Article 1, Section 2, paragraph 3 (easy as 1-2-3). You are required by law to give a population count. The population count is used to decide how many members of the U.S. House of Representatives each state gets, and how the congressional districts are drawn up. It does not say ANYWHERE, that you must answer any question, besides how many people are in your household.
Possible gained seats will largly be in part of the "latino" involvment. Many legal Americans oppose the census questionaires for this very reason.
Gains: Texas +4, Arizona +2, Florida +1, Georgia +1, Nevada +1, South Carolina +1, and Utah +1.
Losses: Ohio -2, Illinois -1, Louisiana -1, Massachusetts -1, Michigan -1, Minnesota -1, Missouri -1, New Jersey -1, New York -1, and Pennsylvania -1.
States to gain possible seats, Florida, South Carolina, Nevada and Oregon would likely remain unchanged if it weren't for Latinos accounting for an average 44% of those states' population growth.
Texas, where Latinos have accounted for 60% of the population growth since 2000, there would be one additional seat--not four.
Finally, Arizona where Latinos have accounted for 48% of the population growth since 2000, there would be one additional seat--not two.
Sen. David Vitter, R-La., held a meeting on health care Aug. 28 2009 in Kenner, La. He stated Sen. Harry Reid opposed his amendments because Reid “wants illegals counted in the census.”

U.S. Census Bureau has invested $600 million into the Field Data Collection Automation (FDCA) project, half a million (500,000) field enumerators will be getting hooked up with a HTC Census smartphone. Armed with an EVDO data-only Windows Mobile 5.0 Pocket PC, and integrated GPS, the enumerator’s job of collecting absentee census information will get nice and streamlined. As a high-tech plus, the built-in GPS unit also keeps the enumerator honest.

The HTC Census earned FCC approval and is planned to go live on Sprint (NYSE: S)’s CDMA network with EV-DO data. The Census runs an Intel Bulverde 416MHz CPU with a Sirf Star III GSC3LTi GPS chipset, and integrated fingerprint reader. The specs are pretty impressive, but without voice capability this thing is really just a glorified PDA, not a smartphone.
Census in Schools are targeting superintendents, principals, teachers, students, and indirectly, parents, as schools open across the nation.
Between January and March, the Census Bureau will launch a week of Census education in schools. During Census Week, teachers will devote 15 minutes every day for five days to the topic by discussing such things as civic participation, confidentiality or geography. Beginning in mid-March, more than 120 million Census questionnaires will be delivered to residential addresses.
The Census Bureau is partnering with Sesame Street to extend the 2010 Census message to preschoolers and adult caregivers. A possibilty of using Sesame Street characters on Census materials and having characters participate in school events and public service announcements.
IF YOU OBJECT, just remember this-
The Posse Comitatus Act is a United States federal law (18 U.S.C. § 1385) passed on June 16, 1878 after the end of Reconstruction, with the intention of substantially limiting the powers of the federal government to use the military for law enforcement. The Act prohibits most members of the federal uniformed services from exercising nominally state law enforcement, police, or peace officer powers that maintain “law and order” on non-federal property (such as states and their counties and municipal divisions) within the United States.
